Department Mission

The City and County of Honolulu’s Department of Enterprise Services manages and markets a diverse range of community-oriented facilities and services for the use and benefit of the public. The Department supports cultural, recreational, and educational opportunities and events while working toward a self-supporting operational model.

Citizens and visitors of the City and County of Honolulu benefit from the operation and maintenance of the Neal S. Blaisdell Center and the Tom Moffatt Waikīkī Shell, which are managed under the direction of the Department of Enterprise Services.

While the rental of facilities and equipment, along with concession services, generates revenue for the City and County of Honolulu, the Department of Enterprise Services remains committed to providing diverse, high-quality entertainment and events that serve the entire community. Excellence in service and facilities is a core objective. Since the expansion of the Department’s portfolio in June 1997 to include the Honolulu Zoo and the municipal golf courses, the Department has continued to broaden its reach and strengthen its role within the community. Ongoing improvements that benefit both the public and facility users remain a key focus.
