Accessibility Overview

The Blaisdell Center is committed to providing an accessible and inclusive experience for all guests. Accessibility accommodations are available across our venues, including the Neal S. Blaisdell Arena, Concert Hall, Exhibition Hall, and the Tom Moffatt Waikīkī Shell. We welcome guests of all abilities and strive to make each visit comfortable and enjoyable.

1. Accessible Seating

Wheelchair-accessible seating and companion seating are available for events at the Blaisdell Center and the Tom Moffatt Waikīkī Shell. Seating locations and availability may vary depending on the event and venue configuration. Guests are encouraged to contact the Box Office in advance or inquire with them at the time of ticket purchase to ensure appropriate accommodations.

2. Wheelchair & Mobility Access

The Blaisdell Center and Tom Moffatt Waikīkī Shell provide wheelchair and mobility access throughout the venues, including step-free entrances and accessible pathways. Elevators are not available in all venues. Access routes and configurations may vary by venue and event setup.

3. Venue Accessibility Limitations

The Blaisdell Center venues were constructed prior to the implementation of modern accessibility standards. As a result, certain areas may not be fully accessible to all guests. Elevators and escalators are not available in all venues.

We encourage guests with mobility concerns to contact the Box Office in advance of their ticket purchases so the Box Office staff may provide guidance on accessible seating. Guests may also contact our Administrative Offices for guidance on accessible routes and discuss available accommodations.

4. Accessible Parking

Accessible parking spaces are available for guests with valid ADA parking permits. Parking locations and availability may vary by venue and by event. Guests are encouraged to review parking information or arrive early to allow additional time for parking and entry. A text description of the map is below.

Accessible parking stalls are located throughout the Blaisdell Center campus near the Concert Hall, Exhibition Hall, Arena, and within the multi-level parking structure. Accessible parking is available in both open-air parking areas and the parking structure, with locations varying by venue and event.

Men’s, women’s, and family restrooms are located throughout the Concert Hall, Exhibition Hall, and Arena concourses. Family restrooms are available in select locations within the Arena and Exhibition Hall.

Guests are encouraged to contact the Administrative Office in advance for assistance identifying the most convenient accessible parking locations and restroom facilities for their event.

Tom Moffatt Waikīkī Shell Parking

Accessible parking stalls are located within the Kapiʻolani Park parking lot along Monsarrat Avenue, to the left of the Tom Moffatt Waikīkī Shell main gate. From the accessible parking area, guests may enter the venue through the main gate. Men’s and women’s restrooms are located just inside the main gate, near the box office.

5. Assistive Listening Devices

Assistive listening devices are not currently available for all venues.

6. American Sign Language (ASL) Interpreted Performances

American Sign Language (ASL) interpretation may be provided for select performances at the Blaisdell Center and the Tom Moffatt Waikīkī Shell. Availability varies by event and is typically arranged in advance. Guests interested in ASL interpretation are encouraged to contact the Box Office or the Administrative Office as early as possible to inquire about availability or to request accommodation.

7. Service Animals

Service animals are permitted at the Blaisdell Center and the Tom Moffatt Waikīkī Shell in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Service animals must remain under the control of their handler at all times. Emotional support animals are not recognized as service animals under the ADA.

8. Accessible Restrooms

Accessible restrooms are available at all Blaisdell Center venues and at the Tom Moffatt Waikīkī Shell. Each venue includes men’s and women’s restrooms with at least one wheelchair-accessible stall. Family restrooms are available in select locations.

Concert Hall Restrooms

Men’s and women’s restrooms are highlighted on the Concert Hall map above. Detailed route instructions for accessing these restrooms are provided in the sections below.

The Concert Hall has two men’s restrooms and two women’s restrooms. Each restroom includes at least one accessible stall that can accommodate a wheelchair.

Routes to the Front Concert Hall Restrooms

  • Guests able to use stairs:
    From the front lobby, take the east staircase down to the men’s restroom or the west staircase down to the women’s restroom.
  • Guests using wheelchairs or mobility scooters:
    Exit the front lobby through the main glass doors. Use the accessible ramps located along the front of the building on the corresponding side:
    • Men’s restrooms are located on the east side
    • Women’s restrooms are located on the west side
    Enter through the first glass door on the respective side of the building to access the restrooms without using stairs.

Routes to the Back Concert Hall Restrooms

  • Guests able to use stairs:
    From the front lobby, take the east lobby red stairs south to the women’s restroom or the west lobby red stairs south down to the men’s restroom.
  • Guests using wheelchairs or mobility scooters:
    Enter the main hall through the first set of wooden doors. Use the sloping walkway along the seating area until reaching the last pair of wooden doors near the stage. Exit these doors:
    • Turn left to access the women’s restrooms
    • Turn right to access the men’s restrooms

Guests needing assistance locating these restrooms may ask event staff for guidance.


Exhibition Hall Restrooms

The Exhibition Hall includes the following restroom areas:

  • Three men’s restrooms
  • Three women’s restrooms
  • One additional men’s restroom and one additional women’s restroom located near the Pīkake Room

Restrooms are located on the northeast and south sides of the Exhibition Hall. An additional restroom is located on the Main Concourse, west of the Exhibition Hall glass doors. Each restroom includes at least one accessible stall that can accommodate a wheelchair.


Arena Restrooms

The Arena offers three types of restrooms: men’s, women’s, and family restrooms.

  • Two men’s restrooms and two women’s restrooms (one on each side of the Arena)
  • Four family restrooms total (two on each side)

On the west side of the Arena, one family restroom includes an adult changing table for guests who require that accommodation. Each men’s and women’s restroom includes at least one accessible stall that can accommodate a wheelchair. Guests needing assistance locating Arena restrooms may ask event staff for guidance during their visit.


Tom Moffatt Waikīkī Shell Restrooms

The Tom Moffatt Waikīkī Shell has two men’s restrooms and two women’s restrooms.

  • One men’s and one women’s restroom is located right inside the main gate of the Shell property
  • One men’s and one women’s restroom is located at the far east side of the Shell property
  • One family restroom is located right inside the main gate of the Shell property.

Guests needing assistance locating restrooms are encouraged to contact event staff during their visit.

9. Additional Accommodation Requests

Guests who require additional accommodations beyond those listed are encouraged to contact the Administrative Office in advance of their visit when possible. Accommodation requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis to best support individual needs.

The Blaisdell Center website strives to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 and 2.2 Level AA standards. Accessibility is an ongoing effort, and we continually work to improve the usability of our website for all visitors.
