The Tom Moffatt Waikīkī Shell is an open-air amphitheater located in Kapiʻolani Park, designed to accommodate concerts, festivals, cultural performances, and community events. The venue features a permanent stage with a distinctive shell structure, expansive lawn seating, and a natural outdoor setting at the base of Diamond Head.
Seating & Floor Configurations
Seating configurations in the pool area vary by event. The venue supports reserved seating in the lower bowl area and general admission lawn seating on the surrounding grounds. Floor and audience layouts are determined based on event type, staging requirements, and safety considerations.

Utilities & Infrastructure

Load-In and Load-Out

Access to backstage and load-in areas of the venue are located through the Royal Hawaiian Gate entrance off of Monsarrat Avenue directly after the first large parking lot of Kapiʻolani Park. Access to this area is limited to necessary personnel.
Production Coordination
All technical and production requirements are reviewed with Blaisdell Center Production staff prior to the event. This includes equipment, staging, lighting, sound, utilities, and staffing needs. Advance planning ensures compliance with venue policies, area regulations, and safety standards.
